	It is a mobile app that is a marketplace for tattoos. 

The platform provides tattooists with an all-in-one tool to manage every aspect of the tattooing process, from attracting new clients to making payments.

	As the lead product designer, it was my responsibility to assess the current state of the project, choose a suitable design approach, and guide the team and client through it. 
During the course of the entire cooperation, I was involved in both hands-on design work and supervising the work of other designers.

With the help of desk research and a series of workshops, we familiarized ourselves with the product and its situation and proposed a tailored made strategy for action. 
We realized that the product was already in the MVP finalization stage. Therefore, we proposed to first identify and remove blockers. 

And then validate the MVP by delivering the product to users and tracking their feedback and behavior. To do this, we proposed to work with growth hacking experts.&#38;nbsp;

The validation phase would be followed by optimization of the MVP, that is, analyzing the collected user data and adjusting the product to achieve market fit.
The client enthusiastically embraced the strategy approach, but he also made the decision to increase the investment because he wanted to better align the product with his vision. So we were also given the task of redesigning most of the user flows and improving the look &#38;amp; feel of the product.

	Throughout our collaboration, workshops have shown to be a great method to swiftly share knowledge, align the team, and generate fresh ideas. On this occasion, the client traveled to Warsaw from Zurich, and the entire team participated in demanding sessions.&#38;nbsp;

	We started with an expert review of the system design to ensure the basic functionality of the product, we checked the touch area of the components, text readability and the overall functionality of the system. This left much to be desired, so we had to come up with many new solutions. The whole thing was documented and gradually implemented by the engineering team.

	We redesigned many of the most important parts of the product, such as tattoo offer creation, search expiernce, customer and artist profiles, 
payment flow, referral program, inquiry form, chat, etc.

The last task was to create a new website. The site was designed to attract users to the product. This was an important part of the customer acquisition funnel. It required us to work closely with growth hackers who knew the requirements because they spoke to tattooists and tattoo enthusiasts on a daily basis. 
The work on the website also included changes in the branding of the product, for which we also organized a photo shoot in one of the tattoo studios in Zurich.

I participated in and shaped the entire process of creating the MVP and subsequent further development of the product.

I was composing a workshop agenda specific to the needs of the topic of interest.

Despite having a large user base and operating well on the market, the product team had not yet developed the practice of testing new flows with users before to implementation. 
We suggested this procedure, and despite some initial skepticism due to the possibility of extending the process, it was approved and is being utilized today. 

Using the maze program, we first ran unmoderated testing. In the subsequent step, we used real product users to conduct moderated tests.

	Once the results of the tests have been analyzed, we move on to developing a design solution. In most cases, we begin by sketching out the user flows. We would then create high-fidelity prototypes from existing elements of the design system and add any new elements that were missing. This process usually had many iterations consulted regularly with stakeholders. The prototypes created were re-tested.

	The project was based on a collaboration with a Swiss sustainability expert who has worked for years with large corporations around the world helping them to plan and achieve sustainability goals. 
Based on his ideas, we were to create a prototype to illustrate a potential product and attract sponsors.

	To proceed with high-fidelity prototyping, I decided to use a white-label design system based on material design to reduce effort, reduce working time, and at the same time be confident in the quality of the UX solutions. Components were styled based on the company's branding, and missing interface elements needed for this particular tool were added.

	The end result was a clickable high-fidelity prototype that represented the main user flow. It was intended to give an idea of the potential product and its features and to be used to attract sponsors to realise the MVP. Therefore, we did not conduct any usability tests, as the prototype was not intended to serve as a viable sketch for building the product.

	Our challenge was to create a DIMS prototype based on the field research already collected and test it with potential users located in the Lake Chad Basin.We received a specific brief and a field research report from the NGO. For full compliance, we arranged recurring meetings with their team, and during the first conversation we proposed a roadmap that boiled down the received brief to UX best practices.

	Using the research provided, we created three prot-personas and their customer paths. After several meetings with stakeholders, we developed fictional characters representing typical users of the future product and their comprehensive journey of interacting with the future management system.

	Next, we prototyped the product. Sketching out a site map was the first step, followed by drawing low-fidelity wireframes of all user interactions with the system. Rather than getting into too much detail, I used Miro and consulted the prototype on the fly with stakeholders.

	Once a basic product prototype was agreed upon, I used Figma to produce a high-fidelity experience. I started by creating a design system that I used the current material design system, expanding it as needed, and styling it by the company branding.

	Using components from the design system, I composed a full user path of the product in high fidelity. After a few feedback loops with stakeholders, it was ready to test.

	usability testing
	
We conducted a remote usability testing of the prototype with a group of users from the Lake Chad Basin. Unfortunately, one of the constraints was that the testing had to take place as a group rather than individually. Therefore, we divided the meeting into three parts: a joint introduction, an individual testing using maze software, and a group discussion at the end.  

The tests yielded a lot of useful feedback related to the prototype-designed product, but in addition, we recognized that a digital management system may not be the right solution to the problems faced by the people of the Chad River Basin. Due to the low level of digitization and internet access, the digital system is probably too disconnected from their needs. &#38;nbsp;

We presented the test results and our general observations to the customers. They were receptive to our insights, although they decided to proceed with the developed solution. However, they admitted that in the future they would consider inviting designers at a much earlier stage of the project, giving them the opportunity to develop a more user-centered solution.

	retrospective &#38;amp; takeaways

	Once the project was finished, I planned a retrospective workshop for my group. Since it was our first time working with an NGO, we believed it was necessary. Although the customer was happy with the outcome, we weren't nearly as happy with it. 

Our primary finding was that solutions for challenging locations, where equipment and network access are challenging, should be created in close collaboration with the end users. Because we didn't collaborate with the end users during the project, we were forced to base our solution on the experts' perception of their needs rather than the end users' real demands.

	Two real estate experts approached us with the idea of creating a unique product. 
Before investing in an MVP, we proposed to them to validate the idea and gather information on potential customers with the help of a landing page and an attached contact form. 

Thanks to this approach they were able to check the validity of their assumptions and avoid possible failure.

	Initially, we planned a workshop known as a "design sprint." The leadership team meets for a three-hour working session to explore the what, how, why, and other aspects of their organization. The outcomes serve as the foundation for branding and visual identity.

	Once the landing page and contact form were designed and implemented, we could proceed to validation. The product researcher proposed assumptions that the validation had to meet to consider the product proposal worthy of implementation.
